Last Thursday (16th July, 2009), we went to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha. First we went past all the beautiful plants and past the sprinkler to get into the Japanese Gardens. When we got in, I gasped in amazement. It was so beautiful, so neatly arranged and there were five stone lanterns. We saw a little water fall leading to a big pond. Behind that little waterfall, was a stone bridge! We went to find the beginning of the "Hide and Seek Trail". So, we all got a map and we read all the clues and found some animals. Here is the clue I liked the most: What's hiding in the water? Did that log just blink? Camoflage helps these ancient creatures survive and ... surprise their pray. Chomp!
Here is a list of all the animals and plants on the trail we could find:

1. Native bees
2. Spikey tree
3.Long necked turtle
4.Water dragon
5.Bamboo
6.Dragon flies
7. Slugs or caterpillars
8.Heart shaped leaf
9.Brush turkey
10.Fiddle shaped leaf
11.fern fiddle head
12.Scorpion
13.Bandicoot
14.Snake
We found all of them except the long necked turtle.
